Thomas brings decades of healthcare leadership and a deep commitment to the wellness of Brooklyn communities
Brooklyn, NY (July 20, 2026) – Today Brooklyn Communities Collaborative (BCC), a non-profit focused on strengthening health and wealth in Brooklyn, appoints Nanette Thomas, M.D., FACP, FACR, Medical Director at One Brooklyn Health, to its Board of Directors. Dr. Thomas is currently the Medical Director of Ambulatory Care and Associate Program Director for Internal Medicine Residency Program at One Brooklyn Health (OBH), an integrated healthcare system serving Brooklyn.
Dr. Thomas joins BCC’s board at a pivotal time for the organization, as it expands its work connecting healthcare institutions, community-based organizations, public agencies, and residents to address the social and economic factors that shape health outcomes across Brooklyn. She brings more than three decades of executive healthcare leadership serving Brooklyn and New York City’s underserved communities. Throughout a career spanning community health centers, safety-net hospitals, long-term care, HIV services, and graduate medical education, she has led multidisciplinary teams and built healthcare programs that serve some of New York City’s most vulnerable communities.

Prior to joining One Brooklyn Health, Dr. Thomas served as Director of Ambulatory Care at Woodhull Medical Center and Chief Medical Officer of CenterLight Health System, in addition to holding numerous medical leadership positions at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York and Harlem Hospital Center. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from New York University, and received her Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, with a concentration in Neurology.
