Dear Community Leaders and Health Advocates,
You are invited to an urgent virtual community briefing on Wednesday, August 21, at 6:30 PM, co-sponsored by One Brooklyn Health and the Brooklyn Chapter of the NAACP.
The recently passed federal legislation, H.R. 1 (One Big Beautiful Bill Act), which includes deep cuts to essential programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and health coverage for high-need families. These changes will have a detrimental impact on Brooklynites, particularly people of color, immigrant communities, and those most marginalized.
This will be the first of a series of gatherings to hear from health leaders, legal experts, and policy advocates to better understand the horrific consequences of this bill and mobilize a coordinated response.
