Dr. Nanette Thomas
Medical Director of Ambulatory Care, One Brooklyn Health
Dr. Nanette Thomas, MD, FACP, FACR, is a physician with more than three decades of experience serving New York City's underserved communities. She is currently Medical Director of Ambulatory Care and Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at One Brooklyn Health, an integrated healthcare system serving Brooklyn.
Throughout her career, Dr. Thomas has led multidisciplinary teams and developed healthcare programs at community health centers, safety-net hospitals, long-term care, HIV services, ambulatory care, employee health, and graduate medical education. Prior to joining One Brooklyn Health, she served as Chief Medical Officer of CenterLight Health System, Director of Ambulatory Care at Woodhull Medical Center, and held numerous medical leadership positions at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York, and Harlem Hospital Center. Earlier in her career, she led the Brownsville Community Development Corporation/BMS Family Health Center to become Brooklyn's first JCAHO-accredited community health center.
Dr. Thomas earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from New York University and a Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, where she concentrated in Neurology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR).
