Strengthening Communities mobilizes a strategic network of community partners dedicated to achieving health and wealth equity in Brooklyn. BCC convenes community leaders, organizations, and policymakers to identify and address some of the most pressing issues facing the borough, while fostering meaningful partnerships and working relationships.
Strengthening Communities provides financial and technical support, acts as a bridge to a network of community-based care management providers, fosters meaningful partnerships to advance racial and health equity, and models participatory grantmaking to shift power and influence to communities.
Central to this work is BCC’s Strong Communities Fund (SCF), a proven participatory grantmaking system designed to fund and strengthen the small, community-based organizations that are on the ground in communities addressing issues of health and wealth equity.
